BOWLING.

THAMES TOURNAMENT. Mr. D. C. Fraser, Mount Eden, writes:~ In the report of the Thames tournament, in Friday's Herald, the Mount Eden team is credited with having lost all their games on the last day. This is incorrtect, and unfair to us, as we lost our first game only, to Remuern. Our ne; game, against Johnston (Thames), we won by 27 to 11. while the ninth game, against Robinson (Hikutaia), whs not r-layed, as wo had to leave by the steamer that afternoon, yet this game is shown as having been plaved and lost by us. I notice, also, that Gosling's (Epsom) t.o.fi.m is shown as having "lost their last game. This, also, is incorrect, as they did not have time to play that game. THE AWAROA CLUB. The official opening of the Awaroa howling green. Helensville, took place on Saturday afternoon. The president, Mr. P. Sandin, welcomed the visiting bowlers and friends. Mrs. C. Snndin throw the first jack. Teams were drawn for a match, President's v. Vice-president's, with the .following results, the president's scores taking precedence: A. B Card. A. J. Hill. 24. v. W. Pegler. K. Smith. 18: W. Hunt. W. Cullens, 17, v. O. Sardin, W. J. Ellett, 22; J. H. T-conard. H. Aitkenhead, 25. c. J. Liresey. C. H. Fattier, W. Coutts. 15; totals. President €6, Vice-president 55. FATUM*HOE CLUB. The Patumahoe Bowling Club, which was formed last April, will officially open its preen next Saturday. A largo gathering of bowlers is expected. Mr. J. W. Hardley, president of the Auckland Bowling Association, will >•<> present, and representatives from the different Franklin county clubs, and from Clevedon, and several Auckland clubs will take part. Tho Patumahoe Club is fortunate in being able to tret its green ready for play this season. The surroundings are still in a somewhat rough state, but during next planting season great improvements will be made. Members are keenly enthusiastic and before long Patumahoe will be able to boast of its beautifully lnid-out snorts ground, for the Bowling Club has also laid out a, croquet lawn and three tennis courts.
