SHAVER'S SUDDEN IMPULSE. [by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.) ASHBTJRTON. Saturday. John Bruce, a farm labourer, aged 55, near Rakaia, cut himself unnecessarily when shaving yesterday, and is now in the hospital. According to his statement, white shaving something came over him and he slashed his throat several times. He immediately ran to his neighbour's house and explained what he had done. A doctor who was summoned found five or'six gashes, severing several muscles but missing the main arteries. Bruce had only left the hospital three weeks ago after an organic trouble.
