ATTRACTIONS FOR TOURISTS [BT TEX.BGRAPIT. OWN CORBESPOtfDEXT.] DABGAVTLLE. Saturday. A considerable number of people from outside districts are now making the trip to Trounson Kauri Park, a matmificent tract of kauris of nearly one thousand acres in extent and within two hours' motor dr: v _ e from Dargaville. Complaints have been made by intending visitors that so> little information can be obtained from the Tourist Department as to the best method of visiting this wonderful park, which has been aptly described as one of the most beautiful in the world. In addition to the beauties of Trounson Park another great attraction is the Waipona State Forest, which contains some thousands of acres of kauri, totara and other trees. All these are within a day's drive from Dargaville. Good trout fisbine can be obtained in* some of the streams near the Trounson Park, where accommodation can be obtained for a limited number of tourists. It is suggested that officers of the Tourist Department should visit the district and obtain first-hand information as to its possibilities as a 'tourist resort.
