THE LABOUR MARKET.

POSITION AT AUCKLAND. The registrations of unemployed men with the Labour Department in Auckland last Saturday showed an increase on the previous week's total, but a slight decrease on those of a fortnight ago. Saturday's figures were 150, compared with 125 or the previous week and 153 a fortnight ago. Those classed as fit to do heavy work numbered 109, while 41 were able to do light work only. No fewer than 63 labourers were on the books, 10 being classed as fit for light work only. During the week, 21 men were placed in private employment, and two in Government employ.
