YOUNG MAN'S LAPSE.
ADMITTED TO PROBATION.

William James Lance Stevens, who had pleaded guilty ■ in the • Magistrate's Court to the theft of motor tyres and tubes valued at £31 10s. belonging to Royds Motors, by whom he was employed, came up before Mr. Justice Adams for sentence to-day. 1 , ' 1
Mr. Amodec, who appeared for Stevens, said that the latter, who was 21 years of age, was an engineer. He came to New Zealand about two years ago. "He married about- four months ago. , Counsel asked for probation. The Crown Prosecutor ; said that it seemed to.be a case in which the accused should be given another chance. : Stevens, was ; admitted; to probation for three years. ■
