APPEAL FROM CHURCHES.

PETITION TO PRESIDENT.

A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON. Nov. 22. A delegation of prominent churchmen representing 30 Protestant communions with 20,000,000 members, personally presented a petition to the President, Mr. Calvin Coolidge, asking him to Use his influence to make the United States a member of the world court. The delegation also expressed satisfaction with Mr. C. E. Hughes' to convene a conference to inquire into Germany's financial condition and urged the United States to call an economic conference to deal . with conditions in Europe. Mr. Coolidge thanked the visitors and promised to give their request due consideration forthwith.
