CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS TO-DAY.

The club championship competitions under the auspices "of the Auckland Cricket Association ' will be' played this afternoon, weather and state of grounds and wickets permitting. The heavy rain which fell last Saturday, causing , a postponement of all matches, has not seriously affected the grounds, and wickets to-day should bo true, with fast outfields. Players selected for practice for the I junket Shiold matches have shown improved form, consequent on practice daring the week, and good scores should be recorded to-day. The matches for to-day are Eden ▼. North Shore, at Devonport; Ponsonby v. I'arnell at Eden Park, No. 1 wicket; University v. Grafton, at Eden Park, on Nn. 2 wicke*. The junior championship competitions will also be played this afternoon, -when good form should bo shown. SUBURBAN" ASSOCIATION.

OPENING MATCHES TO-DAY. The club championship competitions under the auspices of the Auckldhd Suburban Association will be commenced thin afternoon Tho wickets should be in fair order, and good sooree should bo registered. The matches arranged for last Saturday, playing of which were postponed owing to the unfavourable weather, will be played to-day. Ponsonby meet Ellerslie on No. I wicket at the Domain, Y.M.C.A. play Unify on No. 2 wicket at the Domain, and Harbour Board will meet R.V.'s on No. 3 wicket at the Domain. The junior competitions will also be commenced to-day.
