PENNANT CUP COMPETITIONS The pennant cup competitions under the auspices of the Auckland Bowling Centre will be commenced this afternoon. The greens are in perfect order, and' with the continuance of fine weather' interesting games should be played. ' THAMES TOURNAMENT. CLOSE PLAY IN FINAL. [B"2 T3LEGBAPH. —OWN COBBEsVoKUHNT.] '.THAMES. Friday. The section ties and final of the Thames bowling tournament were played to-day For the ties in "B" section. Delaunty (hpsoni), drew a bye, and the first game of sever, heads was played between Adamson and Cameron (both of Thames), and resulted in a win for Camero.. by 7 to 6. after a good game. Cameron then played Delaunty and defeated him by 9 to 7.. The final was then played off in 21 heads between Cameron's team and R. Watson's team (Remuera), winners of the ''A" section. The teams were:—Thames: Rhodes, Ingall, Frogley and Cameron (skip). Remuera: McCallum, Baiter, P. YVatson, Prosser 'skip), Roth teams were on their mettle. The {tame was a first-class exhibition throughout and was witnessed by a largo gathering of spectators. Tho Thames team had the lead from the start, and with seven on the fourth bead the game was 10 to 1 in. its favour.
