ACTIVITIES IN AUCKLAND.
The annual meeting of the Auckland Workers', Educational Association was held this week, the president),! Mir. C. J. Bishop, being in . the chair. , The report of the director of tutorial classes, ' Mr, L. A. Mander, showed a marked increase, in the activities of the association. At- the beginning of 'the year visits were paid to factories, warehouses and offices, and addresses i given op the aims j of the ; university tutorial movement. The result was seen in a large , enrolment of members, the total being 797. The short-course lectures wore particularly successful, while lunchhour classes in social science were held at the Farmers' Union Trading . Company and th© Chelsea Sugar WorKs. in addition to addresses .at the railway workshops.: The financial . position was very satisfactory, there/ being a balance in hand of £256, compared with £80 last - year. The ' following officers were elected :— President, Professor H. W. Segar; vicepresidents, Professor R. M. : Algie and Mr O. J. Bishop; secretary, "Mr. B. S. Mackay; treasurer, Mr. T.
