PLANS OF A SCHOOL.
THE ECONOMY CAMPAIGN.
OTAGO BOARD INDIGNANT. ["by telegraph.—press association.] DUNEDIN. Wednesday. The Otago, Education Board,, tc-day, received a communication from- the Education Department stating that the plans for a new infant department at the Forbury school were to be modified., by the substituting for a closed-in corridor of an open verandah, which it was stated would mean a saving of £480. -The board's architect reported against the proposal. The chairman said that he felt so strongly on the subject ■ that he had instructed the architect not to proceed with the work until further representations had been made to the department. He considered it a breach of faith to make the present proposals without consulting the boai-d, . It was decided to protest against the department's proposal and to suspend operation in the meantime.
