KARANGAHAPE ROAD SHOPS

ENTRANCE TO MYERS PARK.

Tenders are being called for the erection of a block of shops and offices in Karangahape Road, to be known as St. Kevin's Arcade. The proposed structure will consist of a basement and two storeys in brick and reinforced concrete. The basement provides for storage and a large room capable of subdivision. There aro nine shops on the ground floor and four, shops on the upper floor, with display windows facing karancahape Road and numexpus offices overlooking the harbour. Provision ha.s been made for an additional storey when required; also ,for the installation of a lift. An arcade, 20ft. wide, through the centre of the block gives access to Myers Park from Karanganape Road, seven of the ground floor shops having windows to this arcade. The architect is Mr. W. A. dimming.
