The i president, Mr. A. P. Daysh; preseated, a report in which he stated that although the society's show was growing . each f. year,, its financial position was not improving in a way that slight be desired. The profit and loss account showed a loss of £99, while unpaid subscriptions were shown at' £388. Had half this amount been collected a profit would have been shown. IT the show was to. progress, and be a credit' to ' the district, it would be necessary for the membership to be increased, and for existing members to pay their subscriptions promptly. In l»2x the society collected £739 in subscriptions. In 1922, £626 and in 1923 £684 was collected. At a meeting of the executive last September a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. J. Roulston, and the » secretary and president, was appointed, 'to'" report to the annual meeting as to ways and _ means of reducing the overdraft. ■.' The balance sheets showed assets totalling £11j622, while the capital, account stood £3791. As a means of improving the finances of the society members fav- ; oured ho?ding a bazaar and stock drive.
