RETURNS FOR NINE MONTHS. INCREASED IMPORTATIONS. EXPORTS BALANCE REDUCED The excess of exports over imports, shown by the official returns of New Zealand's trade, for the nine months ended September 30, was £6,109,311, as compared with £10,043,886 for the corresponding period of last year. The figures for the two periods are as follow: — Nine months. 1923. 1022. £. £. Exports .. 87,591,106 . 35,145,795 Imports .. 81.481,795 25,101,909 Excess .. £6,109.311 £10,043,386 Exports in September were valued at £2,059,516, • showing an increase of £252,613 over the August total, but otherwise the lowest figure for the year. Exports in September, 1922, were valued at £2,470,961. Imports during September were entered at £3,259,507, compared with £3,574,276 in August, and £3,545,089 in September last year. The following table shows, in respect of the principal countries with which the Dominion trades, the destination of exports, and the source of imports, the latter according to country of origin:— Exports.
