FLOOD-BOUND CITY.
PLIGHT OF OKLAHOMA. UNDER SEVEN FEET OF WATER. A. and N.Z NEW YORK, Oct. 16 The low-lying portions of Ok'ahoma city are Hooded seven feet deep, causing great inconvenience, loss, and damage. Computation of material loss and damage is difficult, but it is already clear that several million do'lars' worth of property has been destroyed. . Large numbers of people were compelled to leave their homes, and 5000 of these are now homeless.
Several rivers are overflowing, and the rush of water has carried away dams and bridges. The rivers present an appalling spectacle, as the .wreckage of bridges, houses and shops are borne along on the crest of the rushing waters. Further doods are expected, and, although happily no loss of life is reported, the worst is not yet known..
