COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING. [BY 'TELEGRAPH.—OWN '._ ■IOERESPOND'ENT ] V .' WARKWORTII. Wednesday.' • The Rodney County Council met at. Warkwortli.yesterday. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £1223. It was resolved that the Port Albert Domain be vested in' local trustees. A claim made by the council against the Warkwortli Town Board for £200 a year, as a share of the cost of the maintenance of the , Kaipara Flats-Warkworth Road, was not recognised by the board, on the ' grounds that the county' was using, an ! equal mileage of the town roads. It was resolved to inquire as to the cost of a commission to allot the charges. The following tenders were received for a concrete ' bridge arid filling at Ahuroa: Jenkins Bros, and W. J. Lee (accepted), £580; Dominion Bridge Co., £5082. .. Mr. A. J. Dow, acting-engineer, was appointed county engineer, at a salary of £400 a year, from October 1. . It was decided that a poll of the ratepayers of the Albert Riding be taken on a proposal to borrow £2000 for the formation and metalling of roads, and the purchase of a crushing plant. ; The salary of the clerk was raised to £400 a year. ;' : •'' :' : Balance-sheets for the past two yens were--returned by the Audit Department without " tags."
