EASINGWOLD' BEATS CYPHER

The weather was fir.o, and the attendance was up to anticipations. In the decision of tho Mona Nursery the New South Wales-bred filly Kaiwarra won nicely in record time for the race. Kaiwarra was purchased by tho ex-New Zealandcr, Sir. M. T. McGrath, for 410 guineas. The filly is engaged in the Maribyrnong ; Plato, which is to be run at Flemington next month. «■> Tho field for tho Herbert Eower Stakes numbered seven, and with Cup and Derby candidates included a lot of interest was centred in the result. Easingwold scored a smart victory over The Cypher, wio was running in last place for a mile, hut finished well. The -winner was trained by E. ,T. Holt, and was ridden by H. Sasanof ranked as tho only horse that won tho' Melbourne Cup and New Zealand Cup.
