The City Council has received a letter from the Canterbury Progress League, asking for the council's support in connection with a, special overseas publicity campaign for Canterbury, which the league has undertaken. The writer stated that an extraordinary demand for illustrated folders and booklets would be created by the Empire Exhibition. Mr. Leadley moved that the matter should be referred to the Finance Committee for favourable consideration. All prominent overseas visitors, he said, had stated that Canterbury should advertise itself more in the Old Country.
