Mr. Leadley moved that the matter should be referred to the Finance Committee for favourable consideration. All prominent overseas visitors, he said, had stated that Canterbury should advertise itself more in the Old Country. He believed that the Progress League should i go further than the booklet, and * should : have a film of pictures of localities of interest prepared for screening at the. Emnire Exhibition. » Mr. E. J. Howard, M.P., suggested that the council itself should prepare a short history of the city as part of' the celebrations to mark the opening of the new municipal buildings. .../'.
