AUCKLAND HOSPITAL.
FUTURE CAPITAL OUTLAY.
DEPARTMENT WANTS ESTIMATES.
The Auckland Hospital Board met last evening, the chairman', Mr.- W. Wallace, presiding. There were also present: Messrs. G. Baildon, xJ. ; Dempsey, G. Knight, J. McLeod, S. J. Harbutt, M. J. Coyle, W. K. Hewitt,:; J. Rowc, E. H. Potter and J. D. Chalmers. ' ' I The Director-General of (Health irequested the board to furnish a return; of proposed capital expenditure for the next five years, and a fore-shadowing of expenditure .for the next ten years. • The chairman ; said that no board could be more careful of finance than the present board. They had to' make provision for a growing city.: It was the duty of the board to look ahead and make provision for the- future and i not leave everything to posterity. The Costley Home Committee recommended that an asphalt tennis court bo i formed for the recreation of the nurses, j The bedding throughout .the home ■ had j become very threadbare and a requisition for £843 was recommended. : The report was adopted. " , The Kumeu Medical Association asked for a■; grant of £250 per- annum. It was decided that a visit to the district be made by a committee. . -.; A report was submitted by. the Otago Hospital ; Board regarding the legal privileges, attaching to, communications made by.i hospital, patients.
