THANKSGIVING SERVICES.
BENEFITS ACKNOWLEDGED^
Thanksgiving //services :in connection with the Hickson mission were held in St. : Matthew] Church /yesterday. The evening service was a particularly C impressive one, the church being crowded with worshippers, among whom were many who had' received benefit from" two 1 mission. , ? - An .eloquent address was delivered by Bishop Averill. . who spoke; of the deep influence the mission had exercised upon the spiritual life of the community.:, It was i customary, ho ; said, to read at /a--mission thanksgiving service I; the testimonies of / people who had received': help,but it would: be impossible for him to do so on this occasion, for the: reason/that j so many letters had : been received i that' j it 'would- take the entire evening to read j them. This in itself /was: a striking' testi- : mony to the success of the healing mission, which , had awakened /in the hearts of people a now faith and hope, ' courage to take God at' His word, and to believe; that He was still able and willing to do for ■ His children >> the/■■; same :• wonderful works that were done of old. • '. i Thanksgiving, services will also be held at St. Matthew's this afernooh and this evening.
