Mr. Arthur Morris, late factory manager at Ngaruawahia who, after 28 years spent in Ngaruawahia, has been promoted to a position in- the head office of the; New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company at Hamilton. The Mayor, Dr. Martin, presided.-';- ■ ■''■' ■'■:;■■
During the evening the chairman presented Mr. Morris with a handsome illuminated address. In doing so he spoke in high terms of the many services rendered to the community by Mr. Morris, who had been prominent in any ; movement- for the good of the town. ■':/.'■. '<;- In his reply Mr. Morris dealt with the growth of the dairy industry since he first j joined it 36 years ago. When he came to Ngaruawahia 28 years ago the factory manufactured 25cwt. of butter a day. Now it turned out 16 tons. He claimed that during his career at the Ngaruawahia factory ho had made more butter than any other man in the world. He held the world's championship for quantity of butter made. ..- %
