NEW SYLVIA. • Samples of picked stop® showing gold freely have been brought, to Auckland from the Now Sylvia mine, Thames, by Mr. H. H. Adams, the principal owner/ These were taken last week from a new reef in the mine. The lode is sft. wide and shows gold from wall,to wall, Mr. Adams stating that it is the richest face of ore yet opened up in this property. The new reef is in virgin country. Mr. Adams reports, and is on the west wall of the Norfolk reef. Whore ifc is being worked it bos fully 800 ft. of backs to the surface. -The property is Owned by a. small syndicate. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Moanataiari.—The winze is now down 71ift. The reef still has , the : same underlie and the quartz is carrying nico minerals. Majestio (Hikutaia). low level is now in 63ft. : The ; reef is the full width of the drive without any walls/ showing. The pre shows an. improvement in quality and is carrying fair ; values. . .
