In consequence of tenants in the Rajputana State of Udaipur agitating against rents, State troops surrounded a village, and were immediately attacked by 2000 armed peasants with swords and'; guns. The assailants were repulsed, losing on» killed, 20 wounded, and 500 ;captured. ;
