PLUNKET SOCIETY APPEAL.
ORGANISING THE CAM A. LARGE DONATIONS ALREADY MADE The response already made to the Plunket Society's appeal for £15, to establish a Karifcane Hospital and to maintain its district work, demonstrates a wide and practical interest m the society's work . At a meeting of the. campaign executive last evening, at which Mr. ,T. Marsden Caughey presided, it was announced that among the donations. received were one of £250, two of £150, a number of. £100, stud several others of substantial amounts. The personnel of the - executive appointed at the public meeting in the Town fall has ' been Jargely augmented and 1 Iters wer? received from a number of prominent citizens promising active support of the appeal and assistance in the campaign- ' Reports were made of progress in the preliminary organisation, and important decisions were made as to the methods to be followed in the campaign. The executive proposes to commence a -systematic canvass for subscriptions early next week. >
