DAY LABOUR CHEAPER. v £37,000. BELOW TENDER. TBI. TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION, j ' WELLINGTON. Wednesday. The chairman • of th© Wellington Harhour Board, Mr. Mitchell, announced at a board meeting to-night that the lowest tender for the construction of Pipitea Wharf had been £188,987, and the actual cost, earned out by day labour, £161.523, the saving to the board being ,£37,464.
