GERMAN PHOTOGRAPHS. [BY. TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATr-J.V.j ' WELLINGTON,' Tuesday. Specimens of alleged works of art* principally photographs of nude women printed in Germany, were placed before postal and customs authorities. The latter replied that they could not open sealed letters unless believed to contain , dutiable articles, except in the presence of the persons to whom they were addressed. If such letters were forwarded to the postal department, they would issue an order prohibiting correspondence : ; with :,..the sender. If such pictures came under their notice in cargo or through . the , ; p?rcels post, they world seize them as indecent articles,'but'they, were unable to interfere ,',, with sealed ;, letters.
