OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.

TOWN BLOCK IN ROTORUA. TWO SHOPS DESTROYED. ! ["by TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA., Monday.' A fire occurred at 3 a:m. to-day in the | block of shops' at the corner of Tutanekai and Eruera Streets, Rotorua. Those occupied by Messrs, 'W. Hardi© (draper) and J. Greenhead were completely destroyed. The brigade was quickly on the scene, , but the fire had obtained such a hold that the adjoining shop, occupied by Mr. R. G. Marsh (photographer) was badly gutted and the premises of Mr. E. T. Harris (bookseller) were damaged by smoke and water. „ The buildings are owned by - Mr. L. Woolliams, Rotorua, and insured in : the United office for £1400. Mr., Harris' stock was insured for £1500 in the United, Mr. Marsh's for £250 in the NortW'n, and Mr. Hardie's for £1200 in ,the Victoria office. Mrs. Galbraith suffered a 1 total loss of £270, there being no insurance. • KAMO TOWN HALL BURNED. • INSURANCES TOTAL £1000. •" [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATE?*. J ; WFANGAREI. Monday. The Kamo Town Hall, which contained the Town Board's records, the . public library, and a picture show plant, was totally destroyed by fire late last night, no water supply being available. : Half of the library books and most of the Town Board documents were rescued. The hall was insured for £500, the picture plant for £300, and the library for £200. The origin of the fire is not kpown. HOUSE AT HELENSVILLE. OCCUPANTS' NARROW ESCAPE. Michalanney, was the scene of an outbreak of fire. Three adults and three children made a hurried exit. Four rooms were gutted.
