DISCHARGE OF A RIFLE.

BULLET ENTERS A HOUSE. BOYS' DANGEROUS ACT. Two secondary school boys, who were evidently unaware of the carrying power of a rifle bullet, appeared before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in the Juvenile Offenders' Court on Saturday. It was stated that they had fired off a military rifle, and that the bullet had gone some distance, to come to rest, in the dining room of a neighbouring house, causing considerable alarm to the occupants. In its course it passed through a box at which it had been aimed, the wall of an outhouse, and the wall of the neighbouring house. On behalf of the hoys it was stated that the offence was committed in ignorance of the danger. The magistrate warned the boys, who were ordered to pay costs.
