With reference to the arrangements to play the final matches between Australia and Hawaii in the Davis Cup contest on a Sunday, Mr. Colquhoun, chairman of the council of the Lawn Tennis Association, explains that after the council had cabled its objection to Sunday play Anderson replied that the cablegram reached him too late, and meantime arrangements had been made to play on Sunday. It was too late to cancel the arrangement, but the council instructed him that no subsequent arrangements were to be made for Sunday iplay, also that members were to carry out the instrucI tions of the council.
