Hamilton, report as follows on stock sales held in the WaiKato last week:— fair amount of fat stock has been finding its way to market, and at most centres meets with brisk competition. Values generally aro hardening prime quality ox making up to 25s per 1001b. Cow beet, as a rule, draws even better competition, valued lor prime quality reaching 21s. Fair supplies of mutton are still available, and values generally aro steady, -l-noris is little alteration in the store cattle markets since we last reported. Everywhere a general apathy is apparent. Yardincs are email and consist principally of female stock. Grown steers have dropped out of popularity, although forward cows have risen in favour. Young heifers are plentiful, but except for well-bred Jeiseys are not in keen demand. ' These latter maintain a strong position. There is a good inquiry for store sheep, and good business has been done recently in breeding ewes. Hoggets aro in demand, but not plentiful.. There has been little alteration in the dairy cattle markets recently. Clearing sale averages are not hifi'h except in odd instances, where tested herds have been offered.
