THE EGMONT MEETING.

WIN FOR POLTHOGUE.

[BY TELEGRAPH. — ASSOCIATION.] HAWERA. Thursday. The Egmont Racing Club's meeting was concluded to-day. The sky was overcast, but rain held off. There was a good attendance. As a. result of recent rains the. race track was in a heavy state. The sum of £17,001 was passed through the totalisator, compared with £25,002 on the corresponding day last year. The grand total for the meeting was £35,878, against £49,040 last year. The following are the details of the racing: — NGAMUTU HACK HANDICAP of £1756 fur. The monthly meeting of the Auckland Racing Club Committee was held yesterday. The club is applying for the following dates far next Mason:— Spring meeting, November 3 and 5; summer meeting, December 26 and 28. January 1 and 2; autumn meeting, April 19 a.nd 21: winter meeting, Juno 3. 5 and 7.
