THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
The Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, inspected H.M.S. Chatham yesterday afternoon, being received by a guard, of honour under Lieutenant Bush, D.S.C His Excellency addressed tho ship's company and bade farewell to tho officers and men who are shortly returning to England on the expiration of their period of service, here. Lord Jellicoe then proceeded to Takapuna where ho unveiled the war memorial gates at the Takapun. Public School. Lost evening .a dinner party, at which the Governor of American Samoa,, Captain E. T. Pollock, was present, was held at Government House. To-morrow afternoon Their Excellencies will be present at the opening meet of the Pakuranga Hunt at East Tamaki. I* the evening Lord Jellicoe will attend the Savage Club's opening korero in the Scot*' Hall.
