THE TOURIST TRAFFIC.
Increase in canterbury. The tourist traffic in Canterbury for the year ended March 31 showed a. marked increase over that of the previous 12 months. The number of overseas visitors was considerably greater. Mount Cook and - the Franz Josef Glacier, as well as the East and West Coast tours via Kaikoura and Nelson, and the Buller and Otira Gorges, were easily the most popular trips in the South Island.
