THE WAIKATO HOSPITAL.

A BUSY INSTITUTION. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] . "'■ HAMILTON. Friday. The Waikato Hospital Board met yesterday, Mr. J. P. Bailey presided'. The medical superintendent reported that the number of patients in the Waikato Hospital at , present was 191. ? The daily average of patients for the last five weeks was 184, and 110 operations had been performed in ', that period. After a conference with Mr. E. Killick, secretary of the Health Department, the board decided to agree to the Health Department's conditions providing for a charge of 93 a day for adults, and 4s 6d per day for children admitted to the King George Hospital, Rotorua, from the Waikato. . The Health Department advised, in reply to the board's request, that special consideration be given to phthisis cases, that it could not deviate from its customary policy with regard to the treatment of hospital patients. , ,
