BELIEF IN NEAR EAST.
APPEAL TO NEW ZEALAND.
£8000 TO FEED CHILDREN.
A. and N.Z. LONDON, March 22. The Save the Children Fund is appealing for funds to feed during the next four months 10,700 refugees from Eastern Thrace and Anatolia, who are being settled in Greece by the League of Nations. The directors of the fund are asking if New Zealand would undertake to collect £8000 or part of this sum to feed children under a scheme to be named the New Zealand kitchen. Sic James Allen approves of the suggestion) and has appointed Mr. C. K. Sams, of Christchurch, director of relief.
