DISSATISFIED CREDITORS.
BANKRUPT LAND AGENT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORBESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Wednesday. At " the meeting of creditors of Clarence McGcady, land agent and builder, Hamilton, yesterday, bankrupt stated that when ho came to Hamilton in September, 1921, he had £60. He was employed as a clerk until January 21, when he entered the employment of a firm of land agents on a commission basis, receiving no salary. He could not make a living, and he then started as a. land agent on his own account. He built a house for a client. Friends promised to help him, but were unable to do so. He was unable to pay for the material he bought, and as his land agency was unsuccessful he decided to file. A deficiency of £370 was shown. Bankrupt was severely examined as to his building contracts. He said he had had a little experience as a builder, but had kept no proper details as to how he made up his estimates. Dissatisfaction was expressed regarding bankrupt's statement, upon which his counsel promised to submit further details. A committee was set up to investigate several matters and to report to a further meeting.
