FIRE AT NEWMARKET.
MILLINERY DESTROYED. A quantity of millinery was destroyed in a fire which occurred last evening in the premises of Miss Bartlett, Queen's Buildings, Broadway, Newmarket. The Newmarket Fire Brigade, which received a call at 8.30, succeeded in preventing any damage to tho building. An electric iron, evidently left alight, is thought to have been the cause of the lire. The building is owned by Messrs. Kneebone and Jones. Miss Bartlett is away from Auckland at present.
