NEW YORK. March 4. The present Congress, which has been dubbed the "Do-nothing Congress," ended phortly after noon to-day. Congressmen are thoroughly tired and will be glad of the niiio months' vacation promised by the President. . ' There were scenes of boisterous merriment in the House of Representatives, where good nature and the absence of partisan ill-feeling prevailed, but the Senate, which was somewhat peevish, indulged in partisan sparring until the very last, and permitted the final adjournment to come without adopting the usual complimentary tributes to its presiding officers. Mr. Harding went to the Senate offices and sighed 55 last-minute measures passed by that body. Reporters who interviewed the President concerning tho half-way milestone-of his four-year administration Mr. Harding took office exactly two years agonoted his tone of disappointment and dissatisfaction.
