FATAL TENEMENT FIRE.
SEVERAL INMATES PERISH. UNABLE TO MAKE ESCAPE. A. and N.Z. NEW YORK. Feb. 23. A shocking disaster occurred last night in a tenement house in Kansas City, which took fir© and was burned to the ground. Many of the inmates were trapped in | the burning building and were unable to escape, and others were apparently : suffocated by the smoke in their sleep. The death roll, so far as is known, numbers 13, but others may also have perished in the flames. "r •
