STOCKS AND SHARES.

The Auckland shaxemarket -was firm again t yesterday. In Government . stocks War Loans and Inscribed Stock, 1927, had better demand at £37 65,. an advance of ss, ; but there were no sellers. The 1938 \ and 1939 War Loan*; and the 1929 and 1939 Inscribed Stock were still wanted at £97. Soldiers' Loans (bonds) had buyers at £100 10s, Boilers £100 15s. Inscribed stock in the same loan was in firmer demand at £100 12s 6d, no holders quoting. In debenture stocks Gisborne Sheepf armors' changed hands at £100. In banks Australasias sold at £13.105, more being sought at £13 Bs, with sellers.at £13 13s. Nationals were done at £6 7s 9d, with late buyers at £6 7s 6d, sellers £6 8s 6d. For New South Wales £37 10a waa offered, sellers asking £38 ss. New Zealands at 57s 9d had buyers at 57s 3d. Unions of Australia had demand at £13 19s, sellers £14. In insurances South British had sale at 37s 9d, sellers closing at 38s, with no more buyers. Nationals were looked for at 72s 6d, no sellers quoting. New Zealands were offered at 27s 9d, buyers 275. Standards were wanted at 33s 6d, sellers 34s 9d. In gas several parcels of Aucklands (paid up) were disposed of at 24s 3d. In shipping Northern Steams (paid up) sold at 13s 4d. In miscellaneous lines business was (lone in Auckland Trams (ord.), Bycrofts, find Milne and Ghoyce debenture stock. There were firm buyers of Colonial Sugars (Australia) at £38, and of the Fiji and New Zealand issue at £10 2s 6d, but no sellers responded. In mining Moanataiaris changed hands fairly freely at from 4s 3d to 4s Id to 4s 3d, with buyers left at the higher price (an advance of 5d on offers of the previous day), and late sellers asking 4s sd. Waihis changed hands at- 31s, more being offered at 31s 3d, buyers 30s 9d. Grand Junctions at 9s 2d had buyers at 9s. New Waiotahis had sellers at lid, buyers 9d. The following sales took place:—Gisborne Sheepfarmers' debentures, £400; Bank of Australasia, £13 10s; National Bank. £6 7s 9d; South British, 37s £d; Auckland Gas (paid up), 24s 3d; Northern Steamship (paid up), 13s 4d; Auckland Tramways (ord.), 22s 3d; By croft, 20s 3d; Milne and Choyce debenture stock, 23s 3d; Moanataiari, 4s 3d, 4s Id. 4s 3d; Waihi, 31s.
