DOG'S NARROW ESCAPE.
A boatman at Port Macquarrie witnessed an Act of ferocity and audacity on tho part of a hungry shark, writes the correspondent of a Sydney paper. His dog was standing on a ' skid " at the water, snapping at small fish, when a shark shot up out of the water and made a grab at the dog. The shark apparently miscalculated, and cannoned against the skid, merely knocking the dog over. It was, however, a very surprised and subdued hound that scrambled to cafety..
