, A protest against the action of the Railways Department in closing a road giving access to (he railway .. station, which had been in use for 40 years, was carried. unanimously. "A resolution urging that the Helensyule train should arrive earlier at Auckland, and depart later, in order to encourage suburban traffic, waa carried. Other district needs - which were the subject .of resolutions .were j increased accommodation at the post office and school the; engagement of a district nurse, , and the formation of a herd-testing association. , It was also decided to • obtain information on fruit-packing methods as practised in California.
