DRINKING AMONG WOMEN.
PROHIBITIONISTS' APPEAL. .::., The Young People's Prohibition League met on Tuesday evening in the Wesley Hall, Pitt Street. Various songs and recitations were rendered during the evening, which was of a social nature. A resolution was * unanimously carried earnestly appealing to all in authority •to lessen drinking among women and girls, which wa# stated to be on tho increase; also appealing to publicans not to serve women and to magistrates to punish severely those who supply drink to women and girls. The resolution' concluded with an "appeal to all women and girls to raise a high and holy standard of living,:; so -.that all wine drinking and other forms of intoxication may. be completely banished from >'- -M;■-■*:,-:■;}:. <- : ■■*■><■;■■. i i
