Mondw Richard Williams and Patrick" Byrne, two firemen, appeared at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court charged with assaulting Leonard Cullimore, a greaser on the Wingatui. Byrne was also charged with the theft, of several articles, the ; property of Cullimore, who is a non-unionist. . The evidence showed that the accused, with others, went on board the vessel and assaulted Cullimore, and that Byrne ran sacked his locker. [ Williams was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment. .
