AGGRESSIVE FIREMEN.
NON-UNIONIST ATTACKED.
; HEAVY PENALTIES INFLICTED. [BY TXUEQBAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHBISTCHURCH. Mondw Richard Williams and Patrick" Byrne, two firemen, appeared at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court charged with assaulting Leonard Cullimore, a greaser on the Wingatui. Byrne was also charged with the theft, of several articles, the ; property of Cullimore, who is a non-unionist. . The evidence showed that the accused, with others, went on board the vessel and assaulted Cullimore, and that Byrne ran sacked his locker. [ Williams was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment. . Byrne was fined £20 for the assault, in default two months' imprisonment, and £10, in default three months' imprisonment, on the charge of theft. v.- ,- •.- -^<:•<.:.:..:;;..,;.;.; ' /■■>.
