OPOTIKI TRADERS.
WEEKLY HALF-HOLIDAY. [BIT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ; OPOTIKI, Friday. The annual meeting of the Opotiki Traders' Association was held last evening, and a most satisfactory report for the year was read. .."<> The following executive officers were appointed President, Mr. M. J, Piatt; treasurer, Mr. J. A. Dalgetty; secretary, Mr. 0. Pipe." A discussion ensued as to the statutory half-holiday, and the general feeling of the meeting was that, in order to meet the convenience of the country people, a change of the half-holiday was deisirable. The present half-holiday is held on a Saturday. It is considered that a change to Wednesday and the holding of the late shopping night on Saturday would me6t the needs of the country customers and be a much more satisfactory business day. : *.'■,-;
