FORMATION AT CAMBRIDGE. [BY TEt.EGBAPE.~OWN CO-RESPONDENT.] * "■;' CAMBRIDGE. Friday.
A meeting of Liberals was held last night resulting in the formation of a Cambridge Liberal Association. Mr. J. Byrne presided, and there was an attendance of about 50.» The chairman stated that the purpose of the meeting was to appoint delegates to attend , a conference of Liberals in Auckland oh Monday next. " Mr. F. Lye addressed those present oh the need for organising Liberalism throughout the Dominion. ; A local branch was then formed. The officers elected were as follow President, Mr. Dickinson; vice-president, Mr. W. Halliday; chairman, Mr. F. Hicks; secretary and treasurer, Mr. P. Byrne; executive committee, Messrs. J. Mclvor, W. Webber, J. Montgomery, ;B. Newcombe, F. Quin (Te Awamutu), F. Hicks. Mr. J. Byrne was appointed ;a, delegate \ to represent the. electorate at the confer- i ence at Auckland. ■ ' v :<\
