EXCESS OF ZEAL PLEADED. IBS TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday Roland Thomas Ferguson, aged 28, -was committed for trial on a charge of attempting to burn the Lower Hutt Fire Brigade station. In a statement to the police accused admitted setting fire to some waste, but said that he had no intention of burning the building down, as he considered he could extinguish the fire before any serious harm was done. All he wanted to do was. to draw attention to the need for a station.
