TRAMCAR DERAILED.
AN UNUSUAL INCIDENT.
A tram derailment of an unusual nature occurred-at the top of Symonds Street about"* 1 -5.15 ; last evening. *An inwardbound car was just passing the safety zone, when the rear axle broke, causing the bogey to leave : the rails. To put these wheels on the track; the car had to be towed backwards by another, and while this was being done the front wheels ran on to the crossover between the two tracks, and they, too, left/the rails. It was then a matter of considerable difficulty to replace the car, on the track, but this was accomplished ;in a remarkably short space of time, and the service, which had been somewhat interrupted, was resumed in about half an hour.
