AMATEUR THEATRICALS.
-PERFORMANCE OF NAVAL MEN
An amateur theatrical performance wa« given by the company of ':', H.M.S. Veronica, assisted by Messrs. G. ;■'•' Marriner, G. Fullerton, M. Macfarlane. B. Houghton, and E. Maguire, at the Devonport :■■ dockyard last evening. The Governor-Generail; Lord Jeliicoe, " and Lady ; Jeliicoe, and a large number of :,;■; other guests were present. After the performance L supper was provided for the guests on board the Veronica. \ The first ." part of : the programme was comprised, of songs, dances and musical items by men of the ship. After the interval Gilbert and Sullivan's Opera, " Trial by Jury," was • presented. The various characters were cleverly enacted, : and the performance was thoroughly enjoyed by-the audience. .
