WAITING FOR WIRELESS
_. —o> EMPIRE'S URGENT NEED. NO EXCUSE FOR, MORE DELAY Times. LONDON, Jan. S. In its leading columns the Times, commenting on the deputation from the Empire Press Union to the PostmasterGeneral on the subject of wireless communication between Britain and the overseas Dominions, says that the Empire cannot wait much longer for its wireless communications to be completed. Tho article points out the vital necessity of wireless to the Empire, and deplores that in spite of that fact the Empire does not possess stations compassing tho world like those of Germany, France and the United States. "A clash between promoters and politicians," says the Times, has delayed the progress of an Empire scheme, but happily now there is no longer any theoretical reason why stations in different parts of the Empire should not be designed, built, and equipped and managed by different ori ganisations, a solution to which events are moving."' I The Times welcomes the assurance of the. Postmaster-General, Mr. Neville . Chamberlain, that there is no conflict of • views between the Dominions and the Home Governments,, and also his denial ; that the Post Office is fighting the policy of its own allies.
