SCHOOL ACCOMMODATION.
—— <4» —: ~■; £700 GRANT TO WHANGAREI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TVHANGAREI. Wednesday. At Whangarei last Thursday the Minister for Education, the ■ Hon. G. J Parr, admitted that the- deputation which urged the need of additional classroom accommodation at the Whangarei School had put a convincing case, supported by figures indicating the rapid growth of the attendance at the school, and he promised to do his be.'st to obtain a grant. Sir. A. H. Curtis, chairman of the school committee, has received a wire from the Minister to-day announcing that a grant of . £700 has been made to erect extra portable classrooms.; • : The school committee is greatly gratified at the prompt fulfilment of the Ministers assurance, which makes the .relief of the present congested conditioo possible almost immediately.
